BMX Champion Extraordinaire
Youngster Ashley Burt - BMX Champion Extraordinaire, who is ranked 15th nationally for 10-year-old girls and 4th in the Midwest USA for BMX racing knows the value of balance and strength training and hard work! When Fitter received a letter from her Manager Ron Burt, who is also her Father, he explained,
"Your Pro Fitter Cross Trainer has been tremendous in helping my 9-year-old daughter with her BMX (bicycle moto cross) racing. Just like you, we deal with snow from October until April, and during these months, we have to drive 3-6 hours to the closest indoor tracks. My daughter gets very little practice during this time of the year. Riders on the south and west coast can practice and race outdoors year round and that hurts riders from the Midwest. My daughter because of her age was given special permission to work out at the Paulding County Hospital Fitness Center. The staff at the Center introduced us to your products and showed Ashley how to use them correctly. It's really hard to put into words unless you would have seen my daughter when she went into the gym last fall and compare her to how she looks now. My lil' hotrod puts moves on other girls in races she would never have tried before. She feels comfortable passing in corners, high or low and it's all about balance and her new comfort level."
Mr. Burt went on to say, "Ashley isn't as fast as some other girls, but training in the gym and working out with your Pro Fitter Cross Trainer (while lifting light weights) and using your Balance Boards, and Bongo Board has given her an edge they don't have. We now know that racing 3-5 times a week is great, but when you combine that with balance and strength training you become a complete package. In the gym and at home, I spot for Ashley. It's her body and only she knows what she can do during a workout. I wish more parents and coaches would understand that when coaching children and young adults. Ashley sets her goals and makes her work outs fun."
Ashley now takes her Bongo Board and Wobble Board to the track to warm up before her races, and for this young lady that means over 86 races, raced and booked between March and December 2006. Ashley welcomes good competition, she races hard and never gives up and Ashley's goal is a 'top 8 National number plate'. Our salute goes to you Ashley Burt #158 - well done!
