4 - 32 kg Fitterfirst Kettlebells
The ultimate tool for extreme all-round fitness
The Kettlebell is a traditional cast iron weight which looks something like a cannonball with a thick handle. Kettlebell training dates back to Tsarist Russia, where any strongman or weightlifter was referred to as a girevik, or 'a kettlebell man'. "Not a single sport develops our muscular strength and bodies as well as kettlebell athletics", reported Russian magazine Hercules in 1913.
Kettlebell training increases:
- Functional strength
- Muscle endurance
- Core stability
- Flexibility, mobility & agility
- Overall fitness, in the shortest amount of time
Some popular kettlebell exercises include:
Kettlebell swing - This conditioning movemement is performed either one-handed or two-handed. The kettlebell swings at arm's length from between the legs to approximately head-level, with the legs, hips, and lower back providing the motive force. The arms should barely even move except to hold on to the kettlebell.
Kettlebell snatch - Similar to a traditional snatch, the weight moves from a lower position to over the head with the arm extended.
Kettlebell jerk - A competition lift, like the kettlebell snatch, this lift culminates with the weight overhead at arms' length.
Kettlebell Power Clean Squat Thrust - A complicated lift that requires first a lifting the kettlebell to about chest height, then squatting, and then finally thrusting the kettlebell to above the head
