The PowerSkater is a dry land training and exercise machine designed to teach an avid skater the proper technique of skating as well as exercise the muscle groups used in this sport. The PowerSkater is an exercise machine that mimics the same biomechanical movement used in proper skating. Skating is to hockey as the swing is to golf. Skating is the fundamental of hockey.

Design
The PowerSkater was designed after the “Arrow tip” or “V” skating position with 45°angle leg extensions at the hip. Foot trucks, with nylon wheels, role almost friction free down a track long enough to provide a full leg extension for an adult with approximately 6´ 4? or 6´ 5? frame. When the foot is returned to the “V” position, the truck automatically returns to the starting position ready for the pushing foot to be in the glide position. Now the alternating leg is ready to be extended out for a similar movement.

Construction
The PowerSkater is made from steel, aluminum, nylon and polypropylene for years of trouble-free operation. The aluminum extruded track design provides added strength for heavy use. The aluminum foot trucks glide smoothly on rugged nylon wheels and sealed ball bearings. The cross brace assembly and the hook mounting plate assembly is constructed of steel. The foot rests are polypropylene as well as the hook assembly housing for durability.

Poor skaters will improve their technique while building the very physical tools that superior skating draws upon. Excellent skaters will immediately notice that this is the best skating machine ever designed as they experience the same local muscle fatigue they feel on-ice. The PowerSkater is also used for anaerobic interval training, and does not limit the PowerSkater to ice hockey players, figure skaters and in-line hockey players. Athletes from tennis, basketball, soccer and other sports, which utilize a lateral lunge action, have benefited from using the PowerSkater. In a rehab setting, the PowerSkater can be used successfully to rehabilitate ankle, knee and hip injuries.
